Condamine

The Condamine district is one of the liveliest districts in the Principality of Monaco. Located in the western part of the city, it is bordered by the Port Hercule and the Monte Carlo district. A historic place, it was founded in the 13th century and is now known for its picturesque charm and rich cultural heritage. Lively and dynamic, La Condamine is full of more than 200 shops in its shopping streets such as rue Grimaldi or rue Princesse Caroline, but also in its typical alleys such as rue de Millo or rue Terrazzani. It is an ideal place to stroll and shop in peace. The Condamine market is also one of the main attractions of the area. In addition to the fresh local produce that visitors can find, the market offers a wide variety of handicrafts such as pottery, jewellery and textiles. There is even the possibility of attending cooking demonstrations and open-air concerts. Located just a few metres from the SNCF train station, the area also offers many cultural activities, such as the Monaco Naval Museum, which presents the history of the Monegasque navy, and the Théâtre des Variétés, which offers a varied cultural programme throughout the year. The area is also renowned for its many popular bars, restaurants serving local cuisine, picturesque cobbled streets and beautiful art galleries. Finally, the Port de la Condamine, one of the largest marinas in the region, is a must for residents. Located in the heart of the district, it offers a magnificent view of the Mediterranean Sea. Here you can admire luxury yachts and traditional fishing boats or enjoy water activities such as fishing and scuba diving. It hosts the majority of events such as the Grand Prix, the Yacht Show, the Jumping and the Christmas Market with its beautiful ice rink.
